A Message from Coach Juan:
Hey Squires Family,
I’m Coach Juan, and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of the Moorpark Squires Baseball family. Coaching this incredible group of 10-year-olds isn’t just about teaching the game—it’s about shaping young athletes who play hard, play smart, and carry themselves like true Squires both on and off the field.
🟣 The Spirit of the Squires
When you put on that purple and gold uniform, you represent something bigger than yourself. You’re part of a tradition that values teamwork, respect, effort, and attitude. We play with heart, we hustle for every ground ball, and we pick each other up when things get tough.
If you’ve been around me long enough, you’ve probably heard a few of my favorite sayings echo across the field:
- “Unlucky!” – when a great play just doesn’t go our way. Baseball’s funny like that—you can do everything right and still miss by an inch. Keep your head up and get the next one!
- “Long hop, no hop!” – when it’s time to make the right throw and trust your instincts. Those quick reactions win games.
- “Put a glove on that foot!” – well… you know who you are. Sometimes we all need a laugh after a wild hop or an unexpected bounce!
Baseball is serious fun, and a good laugh keeps us loose, focused, and ready to go again.
💛 Our Journey to Cooperstown 2028
The dream that drives us right now is the road to Cooperstown Dreams Park in 2028. That trip isn’t just a tournament—it’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. It means years of hard work, learning, and teamwork. The boys are already showing the kind of dedication and energy that make me believe we’ll be ready when the time comes.
Parents, families, and friends—you are just as much a part of this journey. Every ride to practice, every cheer from the stands, every dollar raised gets us one step closer to making that dream real.
⚾️ Lessons Beyond the Diamond
Baseball teaches lessons that last a lifetime. Sometimes we win big; sometimes we come up short. But every game teaches something—how to focus, how to bounce back, how to lead, and how to be a good teammate.
When I see our players helping each other up after a tough play or hustling back to the dugout with smiles on their faces, I know we’re doing things the right way.
💪 Our Goals for This Season
- Effort Every Day – We don’t have to be perfect, but we do have to give 100%.
- Positive Energy – Encouragement is contagious. Let’s lift each other up.
- Fundamentals First – Catch. Throw. Hit. Run. Repeat.
- Family First – We’re a team, but we’re also a family. We look out for one another.
🖤 How You Can Support
The Squires are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit program. Donations help us cover tournament fees, fields, uniforms, and travel expenses as we build toward Cooperstown. If you’d like to help, check out our Support Our Team page for Venmo and Zelle options—or just share our story!
Every bit of support helps keep our kids on the field, growing stronger and more confident every game.
⚾️ In Closing
To our players—keep grinding, keep smiling, and remember that every swing and every pitch brings you closer to your goals.
To our families—thank you for trusting us with your kids and for believing in this program.
We are the Moorpark Squires—stronger together, proud in purple and gold, and always ready for the next challenge.
See you at the field,
– Coach Juan
